Sources we screen

Primary-source data, refreshed automatically on each source’s publishing schedule.

…and many other sources, with new state lists added on an ongoing basis.

Explainable, consistent matching

Every potential match gets a 0–100 confidence score built from fixed, documented rules. The same input always produces the same result, and every match lists the factors that aligned: name, NPI, date of birth, city and state.

Frequently asked questions

Why pay when OIG and SAM have free search tools?

The free government tools each search one list, one name at a time, and leave you to capture your own evidence. Taiga Check searches OIG, SAM, OFAC and State Medicaid exclusion lists at once and produces a dated PDF report you can hand to an auditor.

Who needs exclusion screening?

Any organization that bills Medicare or Medicaid, including hospitals, physician practices, home health and hospice agencies, skilled nursing facilities, and Fire/EMS agencies. Employing or contracting with an excluded person can lead to civil monetary penalties and repayment of claims.

How often should we screen?

Monthly screening is the widely followed standard because OIG and many states update their lists monthly. Screen new hires, providers and vendors before onboarding, then monthly after that.

Is a potential match the same as an exclusion?

No. A name match is a flag for review, not a determination. Use the identifiers in the report, such as NPI, address and date of birth, to confirm or rule out identity before taking action.

Do I need a subscription?

No. You can run a one-off screen and pay by card. If you screen regularly, we can set up recurring monitoring.
